4th of July on Lake OkobojiLake Okoboji is a great place to be in the summer. If you are fortunate enough to be there on the 4th of July, it?s a real treat. Morning parades that celebrate America?s independence turn into afternoon picnics along the shores and in the parks where the food and the fun are both in abundance.Once the daytime festivities are over, everyone in the area knows it?s a must to stick around for the nighttime fireworks displays. There are two major displays. Spirit Lake holds its spectacular display on the 3rd, just after 10:00 pm by Templar Park. The next evening at the same time West Okoboji tries to outdo the previous night?s display with its own spectacular aerial display by Arnolds Park Amusement Park. Thousands of boaters take their crafts out onto the water to view the fireworks. Just imagine being right out on the water directly under the beautiful fireworks as they burst into full bloom. Those watching from the shores not only have the amazing fireworks displays to marvel at, but they also can enjoy the beautiful scene that the lights from the thousands of boats create. Residents and visitors of Lake Okoboji celebrate America?s birthday in style. |
