The Dickinson County Spine Trail provides 16 miles of hard surface hiking trails throughout the region, with smaller trails offering more challenging hikes for more experienced hikers. National and regional wildlife management areas offer both hunting and wildlife preservation activities in a wide variety of terrains from oak forests to meadows. Okoboji and its surroundings also offer many manmade attractions for residents and visitors. There are delightful shops and restaurants located along Highway 71, as well as summer theater (by the students at nearby Stephens College, one of the most highly regarded undergraduate theater programs in the nation), amusement parks and six golf courses within a four mile radius. |
